NGC 6791 is an ancient open star cluster located 13,300 light-years away in the constellation Lyra. It is one of the the oldest and largest open clusters known, containing roughly 10,000 stars. The oldest population of stars are white dwarfs aged between 6 billion years old and 4 billion years old, mixed with those of the cluster's stars, which are 8 billion years old. Some distant galaxies far beyond our Milky Way Galaxy are also visible. NASA, ESA, and L. Bedin, STScI
